What Are TheyIf you are a Schuyler County resident and need financial help in order to get your pet spayed or neutered, the Humane Society of Schuyler County can help. Our spay/neuter certificates will provide you with a “money saving” coupon when you bring your pet to your veterinarian to be spayed or neutered. NOTE: The Humane Society of Schuyler County does not have any contract with area veterinarians to accept the certificate amount as the TOTAL cost of the surgery. For example, our certificate amount for a cat neuter is $30.00. If your veterinarian charges $65.00 to neuter your cat, we will pay the certificate amount of $30.00 and you will pay the difference of $35.00. NOTE: These certificates are only redeemable for spay/neuter surgeries. They will not be honored for other types of surgery. How do we fund our spay/neuter certificates? The Humane Society raises all the monies used to fund the spay/neuter certificates. We hold a number of fund-raisers every year and funnel a large percentage of the proceeds into our spay/neuter efforts. Some of our fund-raisers include our “Cans for Cats” campaign, our annual rummage sale, rabies vaccination clinic, Fine Arts auction, pancake breakfast, Village Christmas, Photos with Santa at the Ithaca and Horseheads PetSmart stores, as well as donation jars located at various businesses in Schuyler County. Please click on the following links for more information on these events, or how you can volunteer to help.
