If you have found a dog or a cat, please contact the sheriff's department/animal control officer before calling us as that is the first place most people contact when looking for their lost animals.

LOST

2/4/12 - Lost Male Dog  - Van Etten area. Yellow Lab. 598-6667

2/2/12 - Lost Cat: “Daytona” was lost in the Enfield area (772 Bostwick Rd.) Jan. 29. All black, long hair, green eyes, 9 years old. Please call: Mark Widner at 845-701-7878

1/23/12 - Female cocker spaniel - chocolate with white on her chin wearing a maroon collar with gold beads. Missing from Hosenfeld Rd Odessa. Contact Alan at 594-2740.

1/21/12 - 2 dogs have been missing for over a week from Wyncook Creek Road, near the end of Lockwood Run in Van Etten. 

Duchess: spayed, 2 y.o, Husky/Golden mix.  Yellow with white stripe on face, around nose, chest & paws.  Curly tail.  Wearing a purple collar with ID tag, but phone number is no longer valid. 

Duke is an unneutered, 1 y.o.  red bone cross, dark mahogany with lab ears.  Orange collar, no tags.  Both could be mistaken for pit bull mixes.  They are friendly, house dogs and not used to being outside in the cold.  Please call Robin at 598.8236.

Found

2/4/12 - Friday night 11:30 February 3 in Watkins Glen at the intersection of Rts 414 and 79. Female beagle wearing tags from Binghamton area.

 


Please call the The Humane Society at 594-2255  or the Animal Shelter directly at 535.9960 for more information on redeeming any dogs. 

Updated Redemption Policy as of Jan 2011:

The state is no longer requiring a dog license in order for a dog to leave the shelter.  For a dog to be redeemed the owner must have proof of a current rabies vaccination or we will arrange for a vaccination at a local veterinarian’s office.  The owner will be responsible for the cost of the vaccination and office visit.

Dogs are to be licensed in the town in which they reside.  

All other lost and found calls should be directed to 594-2255.
