If you are interested in a certificate for spay/neuter assistance, fostering, volunteering or adopting please leave a message at 594-2255, send us an e-mail or download our spay/neuter certificate application. Medical EmergenciesIf you have a medical emergency we suggest you contact your veterinarian immediately. If you do not have a veterinarian please see our listing of local area veterinarians or call the Emergency Department at the Cornell University College of Veterinary Medicine. They can be reached at 607-253-3060. The Emergency Department is staffed 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. Wildlife Issues/EmergenciesIf you are calling regarding a wildlife emergency please call Wildkind Care at 535-6089. Lost, Abandoned or Abused AnimalsIf you are concerned about a lost abandoned or abused animal please contact the Schuyler County Sherriff’s department Animal Control Officer at 535-9960 or 535-8222. Schuyler County Animal ShelterThe Schuyler County Animal Shelter houses dogs only and is owned by the County Sherriff’s department and operated by the Humane Society of Schuyler County. The Animal Control Officer handles all cases of abuse, neglect and abandonment. Effective August 1, all inquiries regarding the adoption of dogs or cats should be directed to The Humane Society at 594-2255.
